University Of West Scotland
In 2018 UWS opened its new Lanarkshire Campus, Scotland’s brand-new ultra-modern university campus.
The £110m campus embodies UWS’ vision to provide21st century, student-centred, personalised learning and teaching in a powerfully effective and modern way.
The campus represents a shift in the way learning and teaching is defined in the higher education sector in Scotland and across the UK.
The new campus with its flexible and collaborative learning
spaces is specifically designed to equip students with the skills most valuable to Industry.
As part of the build, and to house the technology, they needed to source lecterns and bespoke cabinets that met their designer’s vision for the new campus.
Getting equipment to fit perfectly into the available space, ensuring sufficient ventilation for the equipment and working to demanding build times were some of the challenges that were overcome.
But Quadra met such obstacles head on providing bespoke Lecterns, Piqo large screen mounts with built in 10u rack cabinet and control panel housing and Academy workstations some of which are electrically height adjustable.
Quadra quickly responded with ideas, drawings and demonstration units for two floors of the annexes, additional rooms in a second annex and the main lecture theatre.
“I found Quadra refreshingly proactive”
They were willing to travel to meet with us and present their ideas. And they designed bespoke demonstration units so that we could see exactly what was being proposed, and how it would fit into the campus before we committed to the order.
They had a real can-do attitude and worked well with other third parties to get the job done.
